Men's Volleyball Loses To Top-Ranked Division III Program

The Lindenwood men's volleyball team could not keep up with a hot hitting Carthage squad on Sunday afternoon. The Lions lost to the No. 1 team in NCAA Division III by scores of 25-19, 25-18, and 25-21.

Carthage led Lindenwood in all of the major statistical categories, having seven more kills, seven more digs, and four more blocks. The Red Men hit .327 for the match, compared to a .167 mark for the Lions. Lindenwood also struggled serving the ball with no aces and 13 serving errors.

Logan Jarus had the top offensive game with eight kills and a .538 attack percentage. JM Plummer and Jack Mitchell also had eight kills, and Tim Schmidt recorded 31 assists. Defensively, Cory Buehler had a team-high 17 digs and Jarus had three blocks.

Lindenwood falls to 7-5 on the season. The Lions will be home this Wednesday for a doubleheader versus Lindenwood-Belleville and Fontbonne.
