The Lindenwood men's volleyball team defeated Fontbonne on Tuesday night in St. Louis by a 3-0 sweep. The Lions won the match by scores of 25-19, 25-19, and 25-17.
Thirteen Lions saw action in the contest and 11 recorded kills.
Michael Adams led the way with 10 kills and a .471 attack percentage. Other leaders included
Austin Tudor having six kills and hitting .556, and
Evan Bruton hitting .400 with five kills.
Sam Whitaker recorded a pair of aces and had five blocks, one behind team leader Bruton who blocked six attempts. Among the specialists,
Kevin Schmalzried had 29 assists and
David Poole recorded seven digs.
Lindenwood had 12 more kills and six more blocks in the three-set match. The Lions finished with a .298 hitting percentage, compared to a .051 mark for Fontbonne.
Lindenwood is now 14-8 on the season. The Lions next play at Saint Xavier on Friday evening at 7 p.m.
