Men's Volleyball Defeats Second Straight MIVA Opponent

The Lindenwood men's volleyball team ended its 2012 season on a high note by defeating its second straight MIVA opponent. The Lions went to Quincy on Sunday afternoon and came home with a 29-27, 25-14, and 25-21 win.

Lindenwood continued its hot hitting during the weekend by recording 43 kills and hitting .348. Defensively, the Lions had 13.5 blocks and held Quincy to a .126 attack percentage. After the first set, Lindenwood allowed just seven points when the Hawks were serving.

The program's two seniors, Jack Mitchell and JM Plummer, finished their careers with good performances. Mitchell led the team with 15 kills and he hit .393. He also had six digs and three blocks. He surpassed the 700 career kill mark during the contest. Plummer had seven kills and no errors in 17 attempts. He recorded seven digs and five blocks. Plummer also hit a milestone in his final match, going over 600 career digs.

Logan Jarus finished his freshman campaign by recording seven kills and no errors in just eight attempts. He also recorded a team-high six blocks. Among the specialists, Tim Schmidt recorded 35 assists and David Poole had a team-high nine digs.

Lindenwood ends its transition season to the NCAA level with a 19-13 overall record, including a 9-8 mark against NCAA Division I-II programs.
