Volleyball Picks Up 14th-Straight Win At The Quincy Crossover

Box Score The Lindenwood men's volleyball team continued its roll on Friday evening as the Lions picked up their 14th straight win in a 3-0 sweep of Lees-McRae.

Led by sophomore Colin Hackworth with 14 kills, the Lions produced a .241 clip on the evening while holding their opponents to a .-038 hitting percentage.

Lindenwood jumped out to a quick 3-0 start in the first set with points coming from kills by Hackworth and Scott Siwicki along with an attack error by the Bobcats' Joshua Jones. The Lions continued its dominance in the first set only allowing Lees-McRae to come within two on a couple of occasions. The set ended on another attack error by the Bobcats.

Sets two and three started in a similar fashion, with both sets being tied at 11-11 before Lindenwood took over control. Siwicki got the ball rolling in the second set with three-straight serves to put the Lions up 14-12. Hackworth closed out the second set with six-straight serves that included back-to-back aces as well as three Lindenwood kills. In the third, the combo of setter Tim Schmidt and outside hitter Michael Adams served nine out of 10 points to put the Lions up 24-15.

Siwicki turned in eight kills on the evening while Adams added seven. Schmidt led the floor with 32 assists while libero David Poole recorded a three-set career-high 12 digs on the night.

Lindenwood improves to 15-6 overall. The Lions are set to take the floor again at the Quincy Crossover at 10 a.m. as they are set to face Erksine.
