The Lindenwood men's basketball team fell behind early to the Pittsburg State Gorillas in the quarterfinals of the MIAA Tournament and could never recover falling 74-55 on Thursday afternoon in Kansas City, Mo.
Things started off slow for the Lions. Lindenwood missed its first 10-of-11 shots and trailed 17-2 to start the contest. Eventually the Lions offense started to chip away at the lead. Lindenwood would get within five but would eventually trail by nine at the end of the first half.
The start of the second was the complete opposite of the first. The Lions went on an 8-0 to start the half and pulled within one with just under 17 minutes to play. But unfortunately for Lindenwood that was as close as the team would get.
Cory Arentsen led the way for the Lions scoring 20 points and grabbing 10 rebounds.
Chanse Creekmur was second on the team with 10 points.
Darris Smith,
Garrett Reeg, and
Michael Boos all played their final games in a Lindenwood uniform.
Lindenwood ends the 2014-15 season with a record of 17-12.
