Men's Basketball Starts Final Home Stretch Versus Central Missouri

Saturday's Game At A Glance
• The Lindenwood men's basketball team starts its final stretch of the regular season on Saturday afternoon with a 3:30 p.m. game against Central Missouri. The contest will be the first of three home games to end the regular season for the Lions.

• Lindenwood enters the game with a 14-11 overall record and a 6-10 conference mark. The Lions are in tenth place in the conference, two games back of the eighth spot which would give the team a home game in the first round of the MIAA Tournament.

• Central Missouri is looking for its 20th win of the season as it is currently 19-6 on the season. The Mules are 11-5 in MIAA action, which is good for fourth-place.

• Central Missouri leads the all-time series by a 9-4 mark, but the Lions have won two straight in the series. Lindenwood is 2-3 against the Mules in Hyland Arena, and the Mules have won the last two meetings.

• Lindenwood won the first meeting this season against Central Missouri by a 72-63 score in Warrensburg, Mo. The Lions ended the first half on an 8-0 run, and then scored the first six points of the second half to take control of the game. Dominique Dobbs led Lindenwood with 19 points, one more than Brad Newman.

Lindenwood Notes
• Lindenwood ends its regular season with three straight games inside Hyland Arena. The Lions are 6-5 at home this season, but just 2-5 in MIAA games.

• Lindenwood is 0-3 this season when playing an opponent for a second time. The Lions excelled at this last year though, going 5-1.

• Lindenwood shot 56 percent from the field in the first meeting with Central Missouri, its highest mark this season against a NCAA Division II program. The Lions are 8-0 this year when shooting over 48 percent from the field.

• The Lions rank second in the MIAA in fewest turnovers per game with a 10.0 mark, 0.4 ahead of Central Missouri. Lindenwood has committed more turnovers than its opponents in just five contests this year.

• Through Feb. 14, Lindenwood ranked eighth nationally in fewest turnovers per game. It is also ranked high in turnover margin with a +3.0 mark, which is 31st nationally.

• Lindenwood has won the rebounding battle in two straight games. Prior to that, it had won the rebounding battle in just two MIAA games this season.

• Dominique Dobbs was nine-of-nine from the field in the first meeting with Central Missouri this year, and is 13-of-16 (.813) in his career versus the Mules. Dobbs is shooting 57.6 percent from the field this season, and 58.1 percent for his career.

• Adam Pohlman ranks fourth nationally with a 3.59 assist-to-turnover ratio. He leads the MIAA in that category, and is third in the league in assists (4.6) and steals (1.7).

• Brad Newman is 15th nationally with a .904 free-throw percentage. Three of the 14 players ahead of him play in the MIAA.

• Chandler Diekvoss has scored in double-figures in four out of the last five games. He is averaging 13.6 points a game in that span, and is shooting 54.8 percent from the field and 90.9 percent from the free-throw line.

• Drew Moore made his second start of the season last time out. In his two starts, he is averaging 6.5 points and 7.5 rebounds a game.

• Zac Haese has been the top scorer off the bench the last three games, averaging 5.7 points a game. He has made four three-pointers in that span, matching the number he made in the team's first 21 games this season.

A Look At The Mules
• After falling to Lindenwood in January, Central Missouri rolled off five straight wins to get back into the MIAA race. The Mules have lost their last two, however, to Missouri Southern and Lincoln. Central Missouri has a one-game lead over Central Oklahoma in the race to receive a first-round bye in the MIAA Tournament.

• Central Missouri has one of the top defenses in the MIAA. The Mules are second by allowing 65.8 points a game, and they ranked 13th in NCAA Division II prior to the Lincoln game.

• Central Missouri is one of the top free-throw shooting teams in NCAA Division II, making 79 percent of its shots.

• Spencer Reaves leads the team with 15.9 points a game. Jakob Lowrance has 14.6 points and a team-high 6.8 rebounds a game.
