Tuesday's Game At A Glance
• The Lindenwood men's basketball team starts MIAA Tournament play on Tuesday evening with a 7 p.m. game against Fort Hays State. The winner will advance to the quarterfinal round on Friday where it will face Missouri Southern at 2:15 p.m. in Municipal Auditorium.
 
• Lindenwood finished the regular season with an 88-70 victory over Missouri Western last Saturday. The Lions are 16-12 overall, and came in 10th in the MIAA with an 8-11 mark.
 
• Fort Hays State was last in action last Thursday when it defeated Southwest Baptist by a 70-52 score. The Tigers are 17-11 overall, and they finished seventh in the conference with a 10-9 record.
 
• Lindenwood leads the all-time series with Fort Hays State by a 5-2 margin, and it has won four out of the last five in the series. The Lions are 1-2 in games played in Hays, Kan. In Lindenwood's five wins in the series, it has held the Tigers to 63 points or less.
 
• Earlier this season, Lindenwood defeated Fort Hays State by a 69-63 score in St. Charles, Mo. The Lions trailed by nine with 4:27 left in the first half, but they went 41-15 over the next 20 minutes to take control of the game. Chandler Diekvoss led Lindenwood with 18 points, one of four players in double-figure points.
 
Lindenwood Notes
• Lindenwood is making its fifth appearance in the MIAA Tournament, and it has a 1-4 record in its previous tournaments. The Lions have reached the quarterfinal round, and Municipal Auditorium, in two out of the last three seasons.
 
• Lindenwood is 1-2 in the first-round of the MIAA Tournament, including a 1-1 record on the road, and it earned a bye once. Its MIAA Tournament victory came in 2016 with a 77-68 win at Pittsburg State.
 
• The Lions offense had a strong offensive finish to the season, shooting 56.6 percent from the field and 48.6 percent from three-point range in their two games last week.
 
• In its win over Missouri Western, Lindenwood set a season-high in field-goal percentage (.635) and three-point percentage (.647), had its second-most three-point field goals made (11), and its third-most points (88).


• Lindenwood is one of the nation's best at taking care of the ball. The Lions are 12th in NCAA Division II by turning the ball over just 9.9 times a game.
 
• Lindenwood is 26-21 away from Hyland Arena over the last three seasons, including an 8-6 record this season.

• Brad Newman had the first 30-point performance for the Lions since 2016 on Saturday versus Missouri Western. He finished with 31 points after making 11-of-14 from the field, five-of-six from three-point range, and four-of-five from the free-throw line.
 
• Brad Newman now leads the team in scoring with 14.9 points a contest, including 16.3 points against MIAA opponents. Chandler Diekvoss is just six points behind Newman, and averages 14.7 points a game.
 
• In the latest national statistics, Adam Pohlman is fourth in NCAA Division II with a 3.73 assist-to-turnover ratio. Brad Newman is 10th with a .901 free-throw percentage.
 
• Adam Pohlman leads the MIAA in assist-to-turnover ratio, and is third in assists (4.6) and steals (1.7).
 
• Jackson Price leads the team with 63 three-pointers, which is tied for ninth in school history for a season. He has 135 in the last two seasons, which is sixth on Lindenwood's career list.
 
• Drew Moore has started the last four games, and has five starts this season. In those five contests, he is averaging 5.6 points a game. Lindenwood has a +1.8 rebounding margin in those games.
 
A Look At The Tigers
• Fort Hays State ended the season strong, winning three out of its four contests. All three of those wins were at home, helping the team finish the regular season with a 14-2 mark at Gross Memorial Coliseum.
 
• The Tigers are led by their defense which is 27th in the nation by allowing 68.0 points a game. Fort Hays State led the MIAA in steals (6.8 spg), was third in field-goal percentage defense (.433), and fourth in turnovers forced per game (14.11).
 
• Fort Hays State's top player is Hadley Gillum, who is averaging 16.7 points and 6.6 rebounds a game. He is 28th nationally by making 88.1 percent of his free-throw attempts.
 
• Kyler Kinnamon leads the team with 40 steals and a 4.3 assist average. He has a 2.2 assist-to-turnover ratio on the season.
