Things to Know
• The Lindenwood men's basketball team will open the 2019-20 season on November 8-9 at the Prairie Stars Tip-Off Classic in Springfield, Ill.

• The Lions are slated for two games at the Prairie Stars Tip-Off Classic, which will be held at The Recreation and Athletic Center (TRAC) on the campus of Illinois Springfield.

• Lindenwood will begin the weekend on Friday evening with a 5:30 p.m. matchup against Parkside. The following afternoon, the Lions will take on Ohio Valley at 2:00 p.m. to conclude the weekend.

• Lindenwood will be playing both Parkside and Ohio Valley for the first time in program history this weekend.

• The 2019-20 season will mark Lindenwood's first as members of the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC). The Lions had previously competed in the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA) since the 2012-13 academic year, which was its provisional season under the NCAA Division II banner after reclassifying from the NAIA.

• Lindenwood will enter into its new conference under the direction of first-year head coach, Kyle Gerdeman. Gerdeman was named as the 20th head coach in Lindenwood history in June of 2019.

• Gerdeman arrives at Lindenwood after spending the previous seven seasons as an assistant coach at Central Michigan University.

• Last season, the Lions won 16 games and reached the MIAA Tournament for the sixth consecutive season in 2018-19. The Lions finished the season with a 16-16 record, their fifth straight season with a record at or above .500.

• Lindenwood returns just 11.2 percent of its scoring from last season's team, which averaged 75.8 points per game.

• TJ Crockett is the top returning scorer for the Lions, coming off a sophomore season in which he averaged 5.6 points per game. Over the final seven games of the season, Crockett averaged 10.0 ppg, scoring in double figures four times.

Lindenwood Notes
• Lindenwood has made two previous appearances at The Recreation and Athletic Center (TRAC) on the campus of Illinois Springfield, matching up with the Prairie Stars during the 2012-13 and 2015-16 seasons.

• The Lions own a 2-0 record all-time in games played at the TRAC. Lindenwood will return to Springfield, Ill. later in the season on Jan. 25, 2020 for a GLVC matchup with the Prairie Stars of Illinois Springfield.

• Lindenwood has won four consecutive season openers, dating back to the start of the 2015-16 season. Each of those four wins came away from Hyland Arena.

• Since the start of the 2015-16 season, Lindenwood has played 29 games in the month of November. During those 29 games, the Lions have played to a 21-8 record, including a 6-4 mark last season.

• Lindenwood had 19 of its 32 games last season decided by 10 points or less. The Lions had a 7-12 record in those games.

• Lindenwood's 2019-20 roster features 14 players, including five returners from last season's roster. The returning members include Sukhman Bhinder, TJ Crockett, Elijah Hongsermeier-Baxter, Luka Radosevic, and Cameron Scales.

• The nine newcomers to the Lindenwood roster are comprised of seven juniors, one senior, and one freshman. The Lions will be led by their upperclassmen in 2019-20, boasting four seniors and eight juniors on the team.

• The Lions have five states and four countries represented on their 2019-20 roster. Lindenwood claims five players from Missouri, and one player from California, Florida, Indiana, and Ohio, respectively. On the international side, Lindenwood has roots in Australia, Netherlands, and Serbia, with one player from each respective nation.

• Following their two-game swing in Springfield, Ill., the Lions will return to Hyland Arena in St. Charles, Mo. for their home opener on Nov. 14 versus William Woods at 7:00 p.m.

• Lindenwood finished the 2018-19 season with a 7-6 record in games played at Hyland Arena. Over the last four seasons, the Lions have a 34-23 record in home games, resulting in a .596 winning percentage.

• In all, Lindenwood is slated for 28 total games throughout the 2019-20 campaign, including 15 contests from its home court. The Lions will play a total of 20 games against GLVC foes, beginning with a Dec. 3 matchup at crosstown rival, Missouri-St. Louis.

Scouting the Competition
• The Parkside Rangers will be playing their first two games of the season at the Prairie Stars Tip-Off Classic on Nov. 8-9.

• Parkside concluded the 2018-19 season with a 16-12 overall record, including a 13-7 record inside the GLIAC. The Rangers advanced to the GLIAC Championship Tournament Semifinals before falling to Grand Valley State.

• Parkside will lean on Brandon Trimble, its top returning scorer from a season ago, to lead the offense. Trimble averaged 11.9 ppg and shot 48.0 percent from the field. 

• Brandon Hau, Parkside's leading rebounder from last season, is back after securing 5.9 rpg in 2018-19.

• The Ohio Valley Fighting Scots will open their season on Nov. 8 against Illinois Springfield at the Prairie Stars Tip-Off Classic. The following day, the Fighting Scots will take on Lindenwood to conclude the tournament.

• Ohio Valley finished the 2018-19 season with a 9-17 record, and was 4-16 against GMAC opponents.

• Christian Alley returns as the team's leading scorer from a season ago, where he averaged 13.7 ppg on 48.1 percent shooting.

• David Adeyemo, a GMAC all-defense selection a season ago, led the Fighting Scots in rebounding (7.4 rpg) and ranked fourth in NCAA Division II in blocked shots per game (3.1 bpg).
