Things to Know
• The Lindenwood men's basketball team will wrap up a two-game road swing on Saturday afternoon from Topeka, Kan. The Lions will face the Washburn Ichabods at 3:00 p.m. from Lee Arena.

• After winning back-to-back games against Central Missouri and Central Oklahoma in mid-January, Lindenwood has now dropped its last two games. Most recently on Jan. 31, the Lions suffered a setback at Emporia State, losing by a final score of 85-68.

• Lindenwood and Washburn have met seven times since the start of the 2012-13 season. The Ichabods lead the all-time series, 6-1. The Lions will be seeking their first win in program history from Topeka, Kan.

• Lindenwood and Washburn will meet again later this season on Feb. 21 at 7:30 p.m. from Hyland Arena in St. Charles, Mo. The Lions dropped a 76-74 decision to the Ichabods on their home court last season.

• Following its game at Washburn, Lindenwood will return to Hyland Arena for a two-game homestand against No. 2 Northwest Missouri State (Feb. 7) and Missouri Western (Feb. 9). The Lions will play five of their final eight games on their home court, where they have a 5-3 record this year.

Lindenwood Notes
Brad Newman led Lindenwood in scoring for the 13th time this season and the fifth consecutive game on Jan. 31 at Emporia State. Newman finished the game with 31 points (12-of-25 FG).

• Newman's 12 made field goals at Emporia State matched a single-game career-high, which he previously set during a 42-point performance on Jan. 24. 

• Newman has made at least 10 field goals in each of Lindenwood's last three games and is shooting 54.0 percent during that three-game stretch.

• Newman currently leads Lindenwood and is ranked fourth in the MIAA in scoring average at 21.1 points per game. In his 10 games against MIAA opponents this season, Newman is averaging 25.7 points per game, the highest total in the MIAA.

• Newman has scored in double figures in 20 of his 21 games this season, and has surpassed the 20-point plateau 12 times.

• On Jan. 28, Newman was named as the MIAA Men's Basketball Athlete of the Week. During Lindenwood's two games last week, Newman averaged 35.0 points per game, including a career-high 42-point performance in the Jan. 24 win over Central Oklahoma.

Diego Womack was Lindenwood's only other double-digit scorer at Emporia State on Jan. 31. Womack scored 15 points (6-of-8 FG), his 11th game this season with at least 10 points.

• Womack led the Lions with eight rebounds at Emporia State, the fifth time this season that he has paced Lindenwood in the category. Womack ranks second on the team in rebounding, averaging 5.2 boards per game.

• On the defensive end of the floor, Womack equaled a career-high with three blocked shots against Emporia State. Womack has now blocked nine shots over his last three games, and is currently tied with Dominique Dobbs for the team lead in blocks with 16 blocks.

Adam Pohlman added six points, five rebounds, three assists, and one steal at Emporia State. In the process, Pohlman led the Lions in assists for the 18th time this season.

• Pohlman ranks fourth in the MIAA in assists per game at 4.9 and is fifth in the conference in assist-to-turnover ratio at 3.3.

• Lindenwood failed to outrebound its opponent on Jan. 31, losing the rebounding battle 36-34 to Emporia State. This season, the Lions have played to a 10-2 record when holding the edge on the glass, as opposed to an 0-8 mark when failing to do so.

• The Lions surrendered 85 points to Emporia State on Jan. 31, just the fourth time this season that Lindenwood has allowed an opponent to score 85 or more points in a game.

• The Lions are 9-3 this season when limiting their opponents to 79 or fewer points.

Scouting the Competition
• Washburn enters Saturday afternoon's matchup with a record of 14-5, including a 7-3 mark from within the MIAA.

• The Ichabods are currently tied for third place in the MIAA, and have seven of their last 10 games. 

• Washburn was picked for third place in the MIAA Preseason Coaches Poll, after finishing the 2017-18 season with a 22-10 record and advancing to NCAA postseason play.

• In its most recent game on Jan. 31, Washburn suffered a narrow 75-73 loss to Lincoln from Lee Arena. 

• The Ichabods rank second in the MIAA in scoring margin this season, defeating opponents by an average of 11.2 points per game.

• Javion Blake leads Washburn in scoring at 19.5 points per game. Blake is hitting on 46.1 percent of his shots, including a team-high 38 makes from three-point territory.

• David Salach is the Ichabod's leading rebounder, averaging 5.8 rebounds per game. Salach ranks second on the team in scoring, averaging 13.2 points per game.
