Men's Basketball Hosts Central Missouri on Wednesday

Things to Know
• The Lindenwood men's basketball team will host the Central Missouri Mules from inside Hyland Arena in St. Charles, Mo. on Wednesday evening at 7:30 p.m.

• Lindenwood dropped its most recent contest last Thursday to Washburn from Hyland Arena. The Lions fell to the Ichabods by a final score of 81-60 and had their three-game winning streak snapped.

• The Lions and Mules met earlier this season on Jan. 19 in Warrensburg, Mo., with Lindenwood earning the 62-57 road victory from inside the Multipurpose Building. 

• Lindenwood and Central Missouri have met 15 times in the all-time series dating back to the 1979-80 season. The Mules own a 9-6 edge in those 15 meetings, but the Lions have posted victories in each of the previous four games.

• The two teams have met six times from inside Hyland Arena, with each team winning three times in those games.

• Lindenwood will conclude its regular season schedule at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday afternoon against Southwest Baptist from Hyland Arena.

Lindenwood Notes
• Brad Newman led Lindenwood with a 17-point performance (6-of-13 FG) against Washburn on Feb. 21.

• Newman has led Lindenwood in scoring 15 times this season. His 17-point effort gave him a team-leading 27 double-digit scoring games on the year.

• Newman leads Lindenwood in scoring and is ranked fifth in the MIAA with an average of 20.6 points per game. In his 17 games against MIAA opponents this season, Newman has scored a conference-leading 22.9 points per game.

• Newman scored 27 points against Central Missouri earlier this season, helping guide the Lions to a 62-57 road win.

• TJ Crockett scored 16 points (6-of-11 FG) on Feb. 21 against Washburn, his second-highest point total of the season.

• For Crockett, the game was his fourth this season with at least 10 points, and his third in the last seven contests. Crockett narrowly missed his season-high point total of 18 points, which he set against Washburn on Feb. 2.

• Crockett and Diego Womack tied for the team-lead with six rebounds apiece against Washburn on Feb. 21.

• Womack ranks second on the team in rebounding this season, averaging 5.1 rebounds per game. Womack has 18 games this season with at least five rebounds, including four consecutive games.

• Chandler Diekvoss leads Lindenwood in rebounding this season and is tied for eighth in the MIAA with an average of 6.7 rebounds per game.

• Diekvoss is tied for 14th in the MIAA in scoring with an average of 15.4 points per game.

• Earlier this season against Central Missouri, Diekvoss recorded a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds. Diekvoss leads Lindenwood with six double-doubles this season.

• Adam Pohlman and Diekvoss each tied for the team lead with three assists in the game against Washburn on Feb. 21. It was the 25th time this season that Pohlman finished a game as the team-leader in assists.

• Pohlman is averaging a career-high 5.0 assists per game this season, the third-highest total in the MIAA. 

• Pohlman is currently ranked third in NCAA Division II and first in the MIAA in assist-to-turnover ratio with a mark of 3.85.

• In just his second career game, Cameron Scales scored a career-high four points in the game against Washburn on Feb. 21.

• Chris King added three steals in the game against Washburn, setting a new career-high in the process. King has eight steals this season. Pohlman leads Lindenwood with 37 steals.

Scouting the Competition
• Central Missouri enters Wednesday's matchup with a record of 14-12, including a 7-10 mark from within the MIAA.

• The Mules are currently tied for 7th place in the conference standings with Lindenwood and Northeastern State.

• Central Missouri was picked 4th in the MIAA Preseason Coaches Poll, after finishing the 2017-18 season with a 20-10 record.

• The Mules earned a 69-66 victory over Missouri Western in their most recent game on Feb. 23. Central Missouri has alternated wins and losses during each of its previous eight games.

• Jafar Kinsey is leading the Mules in scoring this season, averaging 12.8 points per game. Right behind Kinsey is Jakob Lowrance, who is averaging 12.5 points per game.

• Lowrance leads the team in rebounding, securing an average of 6.7 rebounds per game. Lowrance is tied for eighth in the MIAA in rebounding.

• Central Missouri will conclude its regular season schedule on Saturday at Lincoln.
