Things to Know
• The Lindenwood men's basketball team will conclude the 2018-19 season against Southwest Baptist on Saturday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. from Hyland Arena in St. Charles, Mo.

• Lindenwood picked up a pivotal win during its last game on Wednesday evening, defeating Central Missouri by a final score of 78-72. The victory improved the Lions' postseason odds, and gave the team wins in four of its last five contests.

• Earlier this season on Jan. 17, Lindenwood suffered an 80-71 loss to Southwest Baptist from Bolivar, Mo. The Lions trailed the Bearcats by just two points in the closing seconds, but had a game-tying shot fall short. Southwest Baptist hit a series of technical free throws to extend its lead to a final margin of nine points.

• Lindenwood and Southwest Baptist have met 11 times dating back to the start of the 2011-12 season. The Lions own a narrow 6-5 edge during those 11 meetings, and the two teams have alternated wins during each of the last three contests.

• The Lions and Bearcats have split the previous four meetings from inside Hyland Arena.

Lindenwood Notes
• Brad Newman scored a game-high 34 points (10-of-13 FG, 5-of-7 3PFG) during Lindenwood's win over Central Missouri on Feb. 27.

• Newman has surpassed the 30-point plateau five times this season, with all five games coming against MIAA opponents. Newman and has scored at least 20 points in 15 separate games, and has reached double-digit points in 28 of his 29 games.

• Newman's five makes from three-point range matched a single-game career-high. Newman leads Lindenwood with 58 made three pointers this season.

• Newman currently leads Lindenwood and ranks fifth in the MIAA in scoring average at 21.0 points per game. In his 18 games against conference opponents, Newman is averaging an MIAA-leading 23.5 points per game.

• Chandler Diekvoss was Lindenwood's only other double-digit scorer against Central Missouri on Feb. 27, finishing with 16 points (7-of-12 FG).

• Diekvoss secured five rebounds against Central Missouri, tying for the team lead with TJ Crockett, who also collected five boards in the game.

• Crockett has now tied for the team lead in rebounding in back-to-back games. Overall this season, Crockett has led the Lions in rebounding three times.

• Crockett added nine points off of the bench for Lindenwood on Feb. 27, while also setting a new single-game career-high with his two blocks.

• Adam Pohlman dished out a game-high eight assists against Central Missouri on Feb. 27. Pohlman has registered at least eight assists in four of Lindenwood's last six games.

• Pohlman leads the Lions and is ranked third in the MIAA in assists, averaging 5.1 assists per game. Pohlman has led Lindenwood in assists 26 times this season.

• Pohlman currently holds an assist-to-turnover ratio of 3.86, which ranks third in NCAA Division II.

• The Lions shot 50 percent from three-point range (11-of-22) on Feb. 27 against Central Missouri. The team's 11 made three-pointers were its most in a game since hitting 12 at Southwest Baptist on Jan. 17.

• Lindenwood has won four of its last five games with each win coming by single-digit margins. Prior to its last five games, Lindenwood held just a 3-11 record this season in games decided by 10 points or less.

• The Lions carried a 38-32 edge into halftime on Feb. 27 against Central Missouri. After going on to win the game, Lindenwood improved its season record to 12-3 when leading at the half.

• Lindenwood's victory over Central Missouri on Feb. 27 helped the program reach its 15th win for the fifth consecutive season, including the fourth straight season under the direction of head coach Lance Randall.

Scouting the Competition
• Southwest Baptist enters Saturday's matchup with a record of 13-14, including a 7-11 mark from within the MIAA.

• The Bearcats currently sit in 10th place in the conference standings, and are just one game behind Lindenwood for seventh place.

• Entering Saturday's game, Southwest Baptist is in a three-way tie with Central Missouri and Emporia State in the MIAA standings.

• Southwest Baptist was picked 13th in the MIAA Preseason Coaches Poll, after finishing the 2017-18 season with a 12-17 record.

• The Bearcats snapped a three-game losing skid during their last game on Feb. 27 at Lincoln. Southwest Baptist handed the Blue Tigers their sixth consecutive loss, defeating Lincoln in Jefferson City, Mo. by a final score of 82-78.

• Karim Mouliom leads Southwest Baptist in scoring average this season, averaging 14.4 points per game.

• Mouliom is also the team's leading rebounder this season, averaging 8.3 rebounds per game.
