Men's Basketball Prepares for Southwest Baptist on Thursday

Things to Know
• For the first time since early December, the Lindenwood men's basketball will hit the road for competition. The Lions will travel to Bolivar, Mo. on Thursday, January 9 for a 7:30 p.m. matchup with the Southwest Baptist Bearcats.

• Lindenwood will arrive in Bolivar, Mo. riding a current five-game winning streak. Each of the five wins for the Lions came from Hyland Arena, their home court. 

• Lindenwood owns a 6-1 record during games played in St. Charles, Mo. this season, with its only home loss coming to then No. 3 Bellarmine on Nov. 20, 2019.

• Lindenwood and Southwest Baptist are familiar foes, having both competed in the MIAA since the 2012-13 season. The Lions and Bearcats have matched up 13 times during the all-time series, with Lindenwood owning a narrow 7-6 edge in those games.

• The last meeting between the two squads came during the first round of the 2019 MIAA Tournament in Kansas City, Mo. The Bearcats prevailed by a 76-75 final in the game, advancing to the quarterfinals.

• Lindenwood will continue its three-game road swing on Saturday afternoon in Springfield, Mo. The Lions will face the Drury Panthers at 3:00 p.m.

Lindenwood Notes
Anthony Christian had his second consecutive strong performance on Jan. 4 versus Maryville, leading the team to its fifth straight win with a 21-point effort (9-of-14 FG).

• Christian has now led the Lions in scoring two times this season, and has scored at least 20 points in each of those games. On the season, Christian is averaging 11.4 points per game.

• During Lindenwood's current five-game winning streak, Christian is averaging 13.2 points per game and is shooting 62.5 percent from the field (30-of-48).

Luka Radosevic matched a single-game career-high with a 14-point performance on Jan. 4 versus Maryville. Radosevic was 6-of-8 from the field during the game, establishing a new career-high with six made field goals.

• Radosevic secured a team-leading six rebounds in the game versus Maryville on Jan. 4, the first time this season that he paced the Lions on the glass. Radosevic has four games this season with at least five rebounds.

TJ Crockett picked up his 11th straight game with at least 10 points versus Maryville on Jan. 4, finishing the afternoon with 13 points.

• Crockett is averaging 24.3 points per game this season, ranking first in the GLVC and 11th in NCAA Division II. Crockett has scored above 20 points in 10 of his 11 games this season.

• Crockett equalled his previous single-game career high with six assists during Lindenwood's victory over Maryville on Jan. 4.

Vijay Blackmon registered his 10th straight game scoring in double figures on Jan. 4 versus Maryville, finishing the game with 13 points.

• Through 11 games this season, Blackmon is averaging 17.7 points per game, the seventh-best mark in the GLVC. Blackmon has surpassed the 20-point plateau five times during his 11 games as a Lion.

• Lindenwood held the edge on the glass in its game on Jan. 4, out-rebounding Maryville by a 31-29 margin. As a team, the Lions collected 12 offensive rebounds, tied for its sixth-highest total of the season.

• During its current five-game winning streak, Lindenwood has out-rebounded its opponent in every game, and the team is a perfect 6-0 this season when having the edge down low.

• Lindenwood held Maryville to 76 points on Jan. 4, giving the team a 7-0 record this season when holding its opponents to 76 or fewer points. The Lions are 1-3 when the opposition scores above 77 or more points.

• Lindenwood trailed Maryville by a seven-point margin entering halftime on Jan. 4. The Lions had previously been 0-1 when trailing at the half this season, before evening that record at 1-1 with an 81-76 come-from-behind triumph.

• The Lions are 0-3 in true road games during the 2019-20 season. Lindenwood won its first two games of the season in Springfield, Ill. during neutral-site contests.

Scouting the Competition
• Southwest Baptist has won four straight games, and is a perfect 5-0 on the season. The Bearcats will enter Thursday night's showdown with a 9-2 record, including a 2-1 mark from within the GLVC.

• The Bearcats were selected 13th in the 2019-20 GLVC Men's Basketball Preseason Poll after concluding the 2018-19 season with a 14-16 record as members of the MIAA.

• Included in Southwest Baptist's four-game winning streak were two road wins versus GLVC opponents last week. The Bearcats opened the New Year with a 76-68 win at McKendree on Jan. 2, before knocking off No. 12 Southern Indiana on Jan. 4 by a 71-69 final. 

• The Bearcats have the 10th-best scoring offense in the GLVC, averaging 77.8 points per game, and are led offensively by Brady Smith (14.3 ppg) and Damian Prgomet (13.4 ppg)

• Prgomet leads the team in rebounding and ranks fourth in the GLVC in the category, collecting an average of 8.0 rebounds per game.
