Men's Basketball Opens GLVC Tournament on Wednesday

The Lindenwood men's basketball team (10-9, 10-9 GLVC) will open up the GLVC Tournament on Wednesday, as the Lions cross the river to take on Missouri-St. Louis (12-5, 12-5 GLVC) at 6:00 p.m. in St. Louis, Mo.

The Lions enter the game as the seventh seed in the tournament, while the Tritons hold the second spot in the eight-team bracket.  Lindenwood got the best of UMSL early in the season, when the Lions took down No. 25 Missouri-St. Louis by a final of 84-72 on the road.

TJ Crockett is leading the way for the Lions as the unanimous first-team all-GLVC performer is atop all scorers in the country with 28.1 points per game.  Lindenwood will face a tough UMSL squad, who is allowing just 68.4 points per game.  Missouri-St. Louis saw three players earn all-GLVC recognition, including Steve Webb who was named GLVC Defensive Player of the Year.

Lindenwood has scored 80 or more points in four of its last six games, with the help.  Cameron Scales has found his stroke from behind the arc, as the senior has compiled 39 points and 10 three-pointers in his last two games.
