The Lindenwood Lionettes dance team won both the Jazz Division II and Hip Hop Division II titles at the NCA/NDA National Collegiate Cheer and Dance Team Championships April 8-10 in Daytona Beach, Florida.  

In their preliminary performance in jazz, the Lionettes posted the highest raw score and highest overall performance score with 92.6286, almost five full points ahead of second place Davenport University.  In the finals, Lindenwood improved their routine even more by earning a raw score of 64.98 and overall event mark of 92.8286.  The Lionettes posted the high average scores across every category in the division, including a perfect 10.0 in Collegiate Image. Lindenwood earned a rating of 9.28 in both Performance Impression and Staging, a 9.26 in Choreography, 9.18 in Quality of Movement, and a 9.14 in Technical Elements.

Not to be outdone, the Lionettes hip hop squad also had the best performance in the preliminary round in the division with a score of 94.6857, over 3.5 points higher than second place Valdosta State University.  Lindenwood duplicated its high-level routine in the finals, improving the raw score to 66.32 and overall performance score to 94.7429, which was enough to hold off a charging Valdosta State by just under 1.3 points.  The Lionettes once again posted the highest ratings in every category and once again earned a perfect 10.0 in Collegiate Image.  Lindenwood also received a 9.48 in Performance Impression, 9.40 in both Uniformity and Staging, 9.38 in both Quality of Movement and Choreography, and 9.28 in Authenticity.  

It was the second straight Division II Hip Hop crown for the Lionettes and third overall Division II Jazz title.  The two championships represented the fourth and fifth overall for the Lindenwood dance team and became the fourth straight completed season of winning the top trophy for the squad.  It was also the first time in program history that the Lionettes captured two national titles in the same season.
