Men's Basketball Visits Southwest Baptist on Thursday

The Lindenwood men's basketball team (8-9, 4-5 GLVC) will take on Southwest Baptist (12-3, 6-2 GLVC) on Thursday night in Bolivar, Mo.

The Lions are coming off a 78-68 upset victory over No. 21 Truman State on Saturday inside Hyland Arena.  Overall, the Lions took great care of the ball on both ends of the floor.  Lindenwood committed just six turnovers, while forcing the Bulldogs into nine hiccups.

The Lions shot an outstanding 47.4 percent from the floor, including 7-of-21 from behind the arc.  Defensively, the Lions accumulated six steals and four blocks, as Romelo Burrell led the team in both categories with three each.  The Lions had four players register double-digit points, including Burrell who tallied another double-double.

The Lions and Bearcats will meet for the first time this season, as Lindenwood earned a 91-90 victory in double-overtime in the most recent contest.  Lindenwood snapped a three-game losing skid to Southwest Baptist with the win back on January 30, 2021.  Kevin Caldwell Jr. dropped 19 points in the game, while Burrell notched a double-double, and Brandon Trimble contributed 10 points.

Southwest Baptist has lost three games this year by a combined 10 points.  The Bearcats are coming off an 84-69 win over Rockhurst on Monday, as they have won 10 of their last 12 games, including a 6-2 mark in GLVC games.
