Men's Basketball Closes Out Road Trip at Rockhurst

The Lindenwood men's basketball team (9-9, 5-5 GLVC) will look to close out its road trip on a high note, as the Lions take on Rockhurst (8-11, 3-6 GLVC) at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday in Kansas City, Mo.

The Lions have rattled off three-straight wins, including a slim 73-72 victory over Southwest Baptist on Thursday.  One of the biggest wins of the season came last week, when the Lions took down No. 21 Truman State in a 78-68 win on home court.  Lindenwood has won four of its last five games, as a win would put the Lions above .500 overall and in conference play.

In the win over the Bearcats, Lindenwood made 15-of-16 from the charity stripe, as Romelo Burrell (6-of-6) and Jacoby Ross (5-of-5) combined for 11 makes.  Brandon Trimble was hot shooting the ball, as he was 6-of-9 from the floor, including 4-of-7 from three-point range.

Ross led the team with 24 points and pulled down five boards, while Burrell dropped 17 points and snagged nine boards.  Kevin Caldwell Jr. had an off night shooting the rock, but he dished out four assists, compiled one steal, and registered one block.

Lindenwood and Rockhurst will meet for the first and only time season.  The Hawks got the better of the Lions in the most recent meeting, winning by a score of 95-76 on January 28, 2021.  Burrell (17), Caldwell Jr. (13), and Trimble (11), each scored in double digits in that game one year ago.
