The Lindenwood men's basketball team (1-1) will hit the road on Sunday to take on the University of Missouri (2-0) for a 5:00 p.m. tipoff in Columbia, Mo.
The Lions are coming off an 85-58 victory over Hannibal-LaGrange in the first victory as a NCAA Division I program. Lindenwood won its 15th home opener in the last 16 years, The Lions started the game with six-consecutive three pointer made, as they ended the game with four players registering double-digit points.
Kevin Caldwell Jr. led the team with 20 points and seven assists, bringing his season average to 14.0 points and 4.5 assists per game.Â
Chris Childs dropped 14 points on 4-of-7 shooting from behind the arc. Childs is averaging 14.0 points with 4.5 rebounds through the first two games.
Missouri recently took down OVC member Southern Indiana in a 97-91 win on Monday. The Tigers had a 16-point lead at the half, but the Screaming Eagles made 14-of-17 from three-point range in the second half along to make the final score much closer. Missouri earned a 92-85 win over Penn on Friday night with the help of 45.7 shooting from behind the arc.
Lindenwood will play its next four games on the road, as the Lions head to play in the McNeese Tournament on November 18-20 in Lake Charles, La. After Sunday's game, the Lions will play in the three-game tournament hosted by McNeese State.
