A big week of action starts Friday for the three Lindenwood ice hockey teams in the American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) as they all will compete on home ice for national championships.
The Lions plays their first game in the ACHA Men's Division I Collegiate National Championship March 11 at 8 p.m. against either No. 16 Arizona or No. 17 Michigan-Dearborn. If they can get past that contest, they'll face the winner of No. 8 Stony Brook University versus No. 9 Jamestown on March 13, once again at 8 p.m. The remaining four teams will be reseeded for semifinals that take place the afternoon and evening of March 14, with the championship game set for March 15 at 7 p.m.
As the D1 tournament gets close to its conclusion, competition in the ACHA Men's Division II Collegiate National Championship will begin with pool play on March 14. The Lions enter as the top seed in their pool and will face Montana State first that Monday at 8:45 p.m. A game against New Hampshire is set for March 15 at 5:45 p.m., with pool play concluding for Lindenwood March 16 against Liberty at 8:15 p.m. The results of pool play will determine seeding for the elimination bracket.
The ACHA Women's Division I Collegiate National Championship begins March 16. The Lions enter the tournament as the No. 5 seed and will face No. 8 McKendree that Wednesday afternoon at 1 p.m. If they win, they'll play against one of the other three round one winners on March 18. Lindenwood will advance to the semifinals with a win that Friday and will either play No. 2 Midland or No. 1 Liberty, depending on the other remaining seed. The two semifinal victors face each other in the championship game March 20. If the Lions lose the first-round game, they'll fall into the consolation side of the bracket.
The Lions will have home field advantage as they serve as the host for all five of the ACHA Collegiate Championships March 10-20 at the Centene Community Ice Center in Maryland Heights, Missouri. Full event and single day passes are available at the ACHA
