The roller hockey Gold squad won three games on Saturday, but dropped a single contest on Sunday at the Midwest Collegiate Roller Hockey Association (MCRHA) Inter-Regional February 3-4 at the Salt Creek Sports Center in Palatine, Illinois.

The Lions started the weekend with an 8-0 shutout of the Ohio State D2 squad. Lindenwood scored four in the first period, then added two in each of the final two periods.
Shaun Sapienza led the Lions offense with two goals and two assists, and earned Star No. 1 honors in the game. The other goals came from
Andrew DeCiantis,
Nick Meyer,
Matt Acosta, Lucas Hurst,
Kade Uetz, and
Dillon Bilek. Uetz received Star No. 2 recognition with his single goal and two assists. Bilek was named Star No. 3 with the goal and two assists as well.
Lindenwood outshot the Buckeyes 27-11 and
Josh Henson stopped all 11 shots he faced for the Lions.
The Lions posted their second win of the day 6-1 over Slippery Rock AA. After a scoreless first, the two teams traded goals early in the second before Lindenwood finished with the next five unanswered. Sapienza again led the Lions with two goals and received his second Star No. 1 recognition of the day. The other four goals came from DeCiantis, Hurst, Leonardo Dantas, and Uetz. Dantas earned Star No. 2 honors with a goal and assist, and Uetz was named Star No. 3.
Lindenwood outshot the Rock 28-14 and
Clayton Davis stopped 13 of the 14 shots he faced to pick up the win in goal.
The Lions stopped Michigan State AA 7-3 in their final contest of the day. Lindenwood jumped out to a 3-0 advantage after the first, then scored another four goals in the second while giving up a pair to the Spartans. Michigan State sounded the horn for the only goal of the final period. DeCiantis led the Lions with two goals and two assists, and earned Star No. 1 honors. The other tallies came from
Cameron Green, Dantas, Trevor West,
Andrew Zack, and Bilek. Dantas was named Star No. 2 with the goal and an assist.
Lindenwood outshot the Spartans 32-12 and Henson stopped 11 of the 12 shots he faced in goal.
In the final game of the weekend, the Lions were edged by Michigan State D2 6-5. Penalties led to the first three scores from the Spartans. After the first power play goal from MSU, Meyer netted a shot to make it 1-1 at the 5:16 mark of the first. After another man-advantage effort from Michigan State, Green tied things again at 2-2 on an unassisted play.
After the Spartans scored their third straight power play goal early in the second, Sapienza split the pipes at the 9:35 mark for a 3-3 tie, but Michigan State came back with the next two for a 5-3 advantage, and they increased the lead to three early in the third. Sapienza and DeCiantis pulled Lindenwood back within one, but that's as close as the Lions could get.
Lindenwood outshot the Spartans 28-24 and Davis stopped 18 of the 24 shots he faced in goal.
With the 3-1 weekend, roller hockey Gold improved to 7-4 in MCRHA action and to 10-4 overall.
