The Lindenwood men's volleyball team (2-6, 0-2 MIVA) has a pair of matches on tap this week, one on the road, and one at home. First, Lindenwood will travel to Rolla, Mo. to take on Missouri S&T on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m., followed by a home conference matchup with #11 Ball State on Saturday at 7:00 p.m.

FIRST SERVE
- The Lions opened conference play last week with a pair of losses to #14 Lewis and #6 Ohio State
- Lindenwood took the opening set of each match, before dropping the next three.
- The black and gold have won the opening set in five of its eight matches this season.
- Clay Wieter led the Lions with 33 kills across both matches last week and averaged 4.13 kills per set.
- So far this season, Wieter leads the squad with 94 terminations.
- This will be the first ever matchup between Missouri S&T and Lindenwood in Rolla, Mo.
- Last year, the Lions swept the Miners in St. Charles. A.J. Lewis led the way with 11 kills.
- All four wins by Lindenwood in the season series against Ball State have come at Hyland Arena.
- The last victory in the season series by the Lions was on February 28, 2020, a 3-1 win.
- Lindenwood tops the conference in assists as a team and so does Connor Sheehan who averages 11.31 per set.
- The Lions also rank first in the conference in kills per set at 13.37.
- Head coach Joe Kosciw enters his seventh season at the helm of the program and his 11th at Lindenwood.
2024 OUTLOOK
The Lindenwood men's volleyball team currently has 12 matchups against ranked teams on its 2024 schedule. The squad was picked to finished sixth in the Midwest Intercollegiate Volleyball Association Preseason Poll earning 41 points. Lindenwood returns key pieces to their lineup for 2024, including
A.J. Lewis,
RaShawn Bonner, and
Ian Schuller, who all garnered all-conference honors a year ago. Lewis was named to the preseason all-MIVA team for the upcoming year. Last season, Lewis led the team with 39 service aces and was second on the team with 249 digs.
UP NEXT
The Lions will travel to Lewis on February 14 before returning home for a pair of matches with Loyola Chicago on February 23 and 24. All three matches will begin at 7:00 p.m.
