On Tuesday, the Ohio Valley Conference (OVC) released its all-conference teams and
Ellie Brueggemann of the Lindenwood women's basketball team earned a spot on the second team and newcomer squad.
Brueggemann had an outstanding freshman campaign, starting in all 28 contests. The Owasso, Okla. native paced the team, averaging 13.8 points per game, while scoring in double figures during 24 games. She also shot 92.3 percent from the charity stripe during the season, while pulling down 3.2 boards and dishing out 1.1 assists per game.
The freshman guard was one of the best shooters in the OVC as she averaged 2.9 makes from beyond the arc per game, tops in the conference. Her 81 total three-point field goals ranked second, and she connected from deep in all but two games this season.
Brueggemann was a one-time OVC Freshman of the Week honoree after putting up 21 points at Cincinnati on November 15. She dropped a season-high 27 points in a road win at UT Martin on January 27
th, a game where she drilled seven threes.
