On Friday, Lindenwood women's basketball head coach
Amy Eagan announced the addition of four transfers: Brooke Coffey, Gracy Wernli, Tiana Winn, and Mariah Stewart who will join the Lions prior to the 2024-25 season.
"I am extremely excited about the addition of these four women to our Lion family!," exclaimed head coach
Amy Eagan. "After going through the OVC this year, there were some holes in our roster that, as a staff, we felt like we needed to fill, and we definitely were able to do that with this class. They will be great compliments to the very talented roster we have returning, and I am super excited to coach them!"
Brooke Coffey | St. Charles, Mo | 6-1 | Guard | Incarnate Word High School | Illinois State
Coffey comes to Lindenwood after spending last season at Illinois State. During her one year in Normal, Coffey appeared in all 34 games, averaging nearly 15 minutes per contest. The St. Charles, Mo. native scored in double figures four times, posting a season-high 11 points on three different occasions. Overall, the St. Charles, Mo. native averaged 3.3 points and 2.7 rebounds per contest for the Redbirds.
Prior to Illinois State, Coffey competed at Incarnate Word, one of the most successful high school programs in the country. During her time as a Red Knight, Coffey was a three-time state champion and ended her high school career on a 100-game win streak.
Gracy Wernli | Bixby, Okla. | 5-9 | Guard | Bixby High School | Abeline Christian
Wernli joins the black and gold after spending one season at Abeline Christian University in Abeline, Texas. During the 2023-24 campaign, Wernli appeared in 28 games, making one start. The Bixby, Okla. native poured in a season-high 13 points in that start against University of Texas Rio Grand Valley. Wernli scored in double figures on two other occasions during the season. The 5-9 guard was solid from the charity stripe a year ago, going 35-37.
Wernli had a prolific high school career at Bixby High School where she scored 1,457 points throughout her career. She was also a two-time state runner up. Wernli was named on the Tulsa World and Oklahoman All-State First Teams, while being a two-time All-World Player of the Year finalist. Wernli was a Frontier Conference first team selection and went on to earn Frontier Conference Offensive Player of the Year. Wernli was an AAU teammate of
Alyssa Nielsen and
Ellie Brueggemann. Â In the classroom, she was an academic all-conference and All-State honoree.
Tiana Winn | Wichita, Kan. | 6-1 | Forward |Wichita East High School | Seward CC/Butler CC
Winn comes to Lindenwood after spending last season at Butler Community College. In one year with the Grizzlies, Winn averaged 6.3 points and 5.2 rebounds per game in nearly 19 minutes of action. The Wichita, Kan. native appeared in 33 games, starting 21 of them. Winn finished the season with eight double figure scoring games, including a season-high 16. She posted two double-doubles during the campaign.
Winn spent the 2022-23 season at Seward Community College. During her time in Liberal, Kan. Winn averaged 5.4 points and 4.3 rebounds per game. The 6-1 forward appeared in 29 games, making 15 starts, while scoring in double figures on seven different occasions.
Mariah Stewart | St. Louis, Mo. | 6-2 | Center | Hancock Place High School | Louisiana Lafayette
Stewart arrives in St. Charles, Mo. after spending the last two seasons with the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns. During her time there, Stewart averaged 3.3 points and 2.0 rebounds in 44 games, which included four starts. This past season, she scored a season high eight points in the season opener. In 2022-23, Stewart appeared in all 31 games, knocking down 47 percent of her shots. She poured in a career-high 17 against James Madison.
Prior to her time in Lafayette, La., Stewart spent the first two seasons of her collegiate career at Mineral Area Community College. The St. Louis, Mo. native averaged 10.4 points and 8.9 rebounds in 54 games, including 50 starts. She was tabbed an All-Region and All-Conference performer after the 2021-22 season. Stewart attended Hancock Place High School in St. Louis, Mo. where she earned All-Tournament and All-Conference honors during her career.
