ST. CHARLES, Mo. - Lindenwood men's soccer begins their third Division I season and second in the Ohio Valley Conference as the Lions release their 2024 schedule. Over the course of the season, the Lions will play eight games at home in Hunter Stadium.
"Our 2024 Fall schedule will pose various challenges in non-conference and conference play," said second-year head coach Kris Bertsch. "Our non-conference schedule challenges us with quality opponents and extensive travel around the country with trips to such states as Wisconsin, Ohio, Utah, and Minnesota."
Lindenwood will start their season on the road on Thursday, August 22nd as they take on Milwaukee. Their home opener will take place three days later on Sunday, Aug. 25th at 1:00 p.m. CT when they face-off against UTRGV. LU will wrap up the month of August at Wright State on the 29th.
Starting a two match home stand, Lindenwood will host Evansville on Friday, September 6th at 7:00 p.m. CT and Westminster College on Sunday, Sept. 8th at 3:00 p.m. CT. The Lions will then hit the road for five straight away matches starting on Friday, Sept. 13th at Utah Tech.
After trips to Utah Valley (9/16) and St. Thomas (9/22), Lindenwood begins OVC play at the defending OVC Champions SIUE on Saturday, Sept. 28th followed by a matchup against the Screaming Eagles of Southern Indiana in Evansville, Ind. on Thursday, October 3rd.
"In Ohio Valley Conference play, we will be visiting some conference opponents on the road for the first time while adding a new program to the league. We fully expect conference play to be even more competitive in the second year of competition," said Bertsch.
Lindenwood returns home for three straight matches at Hunter Stadium against OVC opponents. Eastern Illinois visits St. Charles on Sunday, Oct. 6th at 3:00 p.m. CT. LU then takes on SIUE on Thursday, Oct. 10th (7:00 p.m. CT) and Western Illinois on Sunday, Oct. 13th at 3:00 p.m. CT.
Closing out October, the Lions will travel to OVC-affiliate members Houston Christian (10/17) and Incarnate Word (10/20) before returning home to take on Liberty on Friday, Oct. 25th at 7:00 p.m. CT. Their final road game will be at Eastern Illinois on October 31st. LU will end the regular season at home on Sunday, November 3rd against Southern Indiana at 1:00 p.m. CT.
