Olympic weightlifting captured both the Coed and Male Team titles and earned a runner-up finish in Female Team competition at the 2025 Virus Weightlifting Series 1/National University Championships February 27 through March 2 at the Greater Columbus Convention Center in Columbus, Ohio.
The Lions totaled 239 points in Coed Team competition to edge second place Mars Hill University by a single point and East Tennessee State in third by five points. It was another close victory in Male Team competition with Lindenwood posting 225 points to 219 from second place East Tennessee. Florida finished third with 172. Mars Hill won the Female Team title with 230 points with both the Lady Lions and Florida totaling 185 points. Lindenwood won the tiebreaker to claim second place over the Gators.

Several Lindenwood lifters earned individual medals:
Calvin Lackey won the 89 kg weight class with a snatch of 129 kg and a clean and jerk of 166 kg for a total of 295 kg.
James Tice won the 109 kg division with a snatch of 154 kg and a clean and jerk of 183 kg for a total of 37 kg.
Laura Cochran medaled in the women's 64 kg class. She snatched 86 kg for first place, lifted 100 kg in the clean and jerk for second place, and totaled 186 kg for third place.
In the men's 109+ weight class,
Bradley Bingham snatched 130 kg for third, lifted 170 kg in the clean and jerk for second, and totaled 300 kg for second place.
Maurice McClain, Jr., competing in the 109 kg weight class, snatched 123 kg for fifth place, lifted 168 kg in the clean and jerk for third place and totaled 291 kg for third place.
