For the first time in program history, Olympic weightlifting swept the women's, men's, and coed team titles at University Nationals April 9-13 at the Salt Palace Convention Center in Salt Lake City, Utah. The Lions totaled 173 points in women's competition, finishing 49 points ahead of the University of Florida in second place. In men's competition, Lindenwood finished with 177 points edge Mars Hill for the title by 15. The coed team totaled 205 points for a 36-point victory ahead of LSU – Shreveport, securing the champions title for the fourth year in a row.
The Lions had multiple medal winners individually led by Ella Nicholson, Chealsea Enemor, and Goerge Upmeyer, who each swept their weight class. In the women's 86kg division, Nicholson snatched 113kg and lifted 130kg in the clean and jerk for a top total of 243kg. In the women's 86+kg class, Enemor snatched 105kg, lifted 145kg in the clean and jerk, and totaled 250kg. Competing in the men's 110kg division, Upmeyer snatched 170kg, hoisted 194kg in the clean and jerk, and totaled 364kg.
There were many additional highlights from the weekend of competition. Ella Nicholson earned the Best Female Athlete title and hit a University American Record on all lifts and her total. George Upmeyer earned the Best Male Athlete title and hit a University American Record on all lifts and total. Chealsea Ememor hit a University American Record on all lifts and total and Grace Montgomery hit a University American Record in the snatch.
Nine Lions earned All-American titles including George Upmeyer, Cameron Lee, Chealsea Enemor, Allysen Byerly, Ella Nicholson, Grace Montgomery, James Tice, Calvin Lackey, and Malachi Woodard.
