Women’s Bowling Ranked Ninth in Latest NCBCA Poll; Men Receive Votes

Women's bowling was ranked ninth in the latest National Collegiate Bowling Coaches Association (NCBCA) poll, down two spots from the first edition in December. The men's team was not ranked in the top 20 but did receive votes.

The Lady Lions earned 396 points to sit 13 points behind Lawrence Tech in eighth and 24 points ahead of Wichita State University in 10th. Mount Mercy received five first place votes and 652 points overall to edge Jacksonville State University for the top spot. The Gamecocks received 14 first place votes and 624 points. Savannah College of Art & Design (SCAD) – Savannah claimed the third spot with 518 points, followed by Milligan University in fourth with 470 points, including one first place vote, and Louisiana Tech in fifth place with 452 points.

Mount Mercy also claimed the top spot in the men's poll with 890 points and 10 first place votes. Wichita State was close behind with 866 points and 10 first place votes as well. The University of Wisconsin – Whitewater was ranked third with 724 points and three first place votes, followed by St. Ambrose University in fourth place with 656 points, and Newman University in fifth place with 638 points and one first place vote. Webber International University also received a first-place vote and 590 points for sixth.

The Lions received at least two votes in the poll but did not accumulate enough points to make the top 20.

Men's and women's bowling will wrap up the 2025-26 regular season at the 57th Annual Hoosier Classic February 14-15 in Indianapolis, Indiana.

About the NCBCA Team Poll
The NCBCA Coaches' Team Poll is a presentation of the top 20 USBC Collegiate bowling programs determined by the National Collegiate Bowling Coaches Association (NCBCA). The NCBCA membership includes college bowling coaches, club advisors, tournament directors, and conference officers. Each NCBCA member completes a ballot ranking the top 20 USBC Collegiate programs. On each ballot, the first place team receives 40 points, second place-34 points, third place-30 points, fourth place-28 points, fifth place-26 points, sixth place-24 points, seventh place-22 points, eighth place-20 points, ninth place-18 points, 10th place-16 points, 11th place-14 points, 12th place-12 points, 13th place-10 points, 14th place-eight points, 15th place-six points, 16th place-five points, 17th place-four points, 18th place-three points, 19th place-two points, and 20th place-one point. NCBCA member ballots are tabulated and generate the NCBCA Coaches' Team Poll.
