ST. CHARLES, Mo. – Lindenwood Men's Rugby continued its tradition of developing elite collegiate players as four Lions earned recognition on the 2025-26 College Rugby Association of America (CRAA) Division 1A All-American Teams.

Kieran Holland earned Second XV All-American honors. The four selections were among the most by any program in Division 1A rugby and reflect Lindenwood's continued presence among the nation's elite.
The honors come following another successful campaign for the Lions, who captured the Midwest Rugby Conference Championship and advanced to the CRAA National Quarterfinals. Throughout the season, Lindenwood combined a powerful forward pack, disciplined defense, and dynamic attacking rugby to once again establish itself among the top programs in collegiate rugby.
Schaefer's First XV selection caps a remarkable Lindenwood career. The senior prop anchored the Lions' scrum throughout the season and established himself as one of the premier front-row players in the country. Known for his physicality, fun attitude, and consistency, Schaefer's impact extended well beyond the set piece as he provided leadership and stability for one of the nation's most competitive forward packs. His selection to the First XV places him among the top players in all of Division 1A rugby.
Scanlon earned Second XV honors after serving as captain of the Lions during the 2025-26 season. The Waterford, Ireland native set the standard for the program through his work ethic, physicality, and leadership. A dominant presence in the lineout and around the field, Scanlon played a central role in guiding Lindenwood to a conference championship and another deep postseason run.
At flyhalf, Forward delivered one of the most influential seasons of any player in collegiate rugby. The junior playmaker orchestrated Lindenwood's attack with confidence and creativity, consistently creating opportunities for teammates while controlling matches through his kicking game and decision making. Earlier this spring, Forward was recognized as Lindenwood Athletics' Male Athlete of the Year, a further testimony to a great season.
Holland's selection is particularly impressive given his status as a sophomore. Emerging as one of the top props in Division 1A, Holland became a cornerstone of Lindenwood's forward pack and excelled in every phase of the game. His consistency at set piece, relentless work rate, and physical presence helped establish the foundation for the Lions' success throughout the year.
"Having four players recognized as All-Americans is a tremendous honor for our program," said Head Coach Joshua Macy. "Luke's First XV selection reflects years of dedication and development, while David, Byron, and Kieran each played critical roles in our success this season. These awards are a testament not only to their individual performances, but also to the commitment of their teammates and the standards that define Lindenwood Rugby."
The selections add to Lindenwood's long history of producing All-Americans and national-level talent. More importantly, they reflect a team-first culture that continues to drive success on and off the field.
With Scanlon, Forward, and Holland all returning for the 2026-27 season, the Lions will bring back a strong core of nationally recognized talent as they pursue future conference and national championship ambitions.
