Archery took second place overall at the National Field Archery Association Foundation 2023 Vegas Shoot February 3-5 in Las Vegas. The Lions totaled 2,205 points to finish just three points behind event winner and perennial power Texas A & M, and 18 points ahead of Mount Marty University in third.
Individually, Lindenwood had several standout performances.
Justin Hall took fifth in Men's Collegiate Compound with a score of 598, just two point behind the champion after 60 arrows. In Women's Collegiate Compound,
Hallie Sellers led the Lions in 20
th place with a score of 579, while
Brianna Hayes took 27
th with 558.
Ashton Probus was the top Lindenwood archer in Collegiate Men's Recurve, taking eighth place with a score of 559. In Collegiate Women's Recurve, Kaitlyn Robinson finished in 13
th place with 509, followed by
Sarah Jungmeyer in 14
th with 503.
Kenzie Yates took 18
th with 475.
In the Men's Recurve Barebow event,
Jace Jensen led the Lions in third place with 461 points. He was followed by
David Hollenberg in fourth with
Colby Harris taking 10
th with 372.
Lindenwood took four of the top five positions in Men's Collegiate Bowhunter, led by
Jordan Gregg in second with 587 points.
Riley Laws was right behind in third with 586, followed by
Cody Mosley in fourth with 585, and
Hunter Powell in fifth with 582. The Lions were well represented in Women's Bowhunter as well, led by
Ryley Schaub in fourth with 555 points.
Natalie Akers took sixth with 547,
Camille Martin finished 10
th with 536, and
Anna Hoeckelmann took 13
th with 525.
Archery next competes at the USA Archery Collegiate Nationals February 16-17 in Madisonville, Kentucky.
