The Olympic weightlifting team has qualified full squads for the American Open Finals taking place in December and University Nationals in early March 2025. The Lions

competed at the Strength Works Open in St. Louis and the MNU In-House Qualifier in Olathe, Kansas over the past three weeks.
The eight athletes earning qualification for the American Open Finals include Spencer Dent,
Laura Cochran, Bobby Hill,
Calvin Lackey, Cameron Lee,
Jenna McClain, Grace Montgomery, and
James Tice. With a full team comprised of eight spots, this marks the first time in Lindenwood Olympic weightlifting history that the Lions have filled a team for the senior level ages 18-35 meet, one of the most competitive annually in the United States. The event includes the best athletes nationally attempting to qualify for a Pan-Am or World Team.
The Lions also qualified a full coed, men's, and women's squad of 10 athletes each for University Nationals for the first time since 2019. A total of 33 lifters will represent Lindenwood at the event.
The 2024 Nike North American Open Finals are scheduled for December 5-8 at the Tucson Convention Center in Tucson, Arizona while University Nationals is set for February 27 to March 2 at the Greater Columbus Convention Center in Columbus, Ohio.
