The shotgun sports program won the inaugural Collegiate Clay Target League (CCTL) National Championship after competing November 2-3 at the Brittany Shooting Park in Bunker Hill, Illinois.

The Lions took 29 athletes to the event with the top five individual scores determining the overall team score. The top five for Lindenwood included Brenden Mowen, Wyatt Baine, Mae Action, Lauren Louzader, and Sam Gilman who totaled 965, edging second place Lake Land College by four targets, a margin that was only built on the second day of competition.

The Lions squad produced several individual winners as well. In the High Gun Gold Female competition, Acton earned the championship, followed by Louzader and Sage McKeough. Laynee Metz claimed the High Gun Silver Female Championship with Emily Oakes taking third.

The CCTL regular season included five-weeks of virtual competition that ended two weeks prior. Lindenwood won the conference by 1,001 points, a huge margin. Johannes Holtzhausen posted the third highest average in skeet and not only did Sophia Smith lead the conference, she was the highest lady skeet performer in the entire league.

On the trap side, Lindenwood won four of the six possible medals in the conference. Gilman had the second highest average while Matt Keist had the third highest. In women's trap, McKeough finished with the highest conference and overall league average while Anna Rawe finished third in the conference.

The CCTL Championships wrapped up the Lions fall schedule. The shotgun sport team will return to action for the Lindenwood Open in late February.
