Sherri Rawe to Lead Shotgun Sports Program

Lindenwood Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics Jason Coomer has announced the hiring of Sherri Rawe as the next leader of the shotgun sports program.

"We are thrilled to welcome Sherri Rawe as the next shotgun sports coach at Lindenwood," Coomer said. "Sherri brings a wealth of experience, passion, and leadership to our program, and we are confident she will continue to build on our tradition of excellence. Her vision for developing the total student-athlete makes her a great fit for our program."

Rawe brings a lifetime of experience in a variety of shooting sports along with coaching experience in trapshooting, competitive pistol, air rifle, and archery. Most recently, she served as head coach and program director for the NASP teams at Jefferson High School in Festus, Missouri, and she was head coach and program director for the Student Air Rifle Program there for two years. Rawe also led the Arnold Junior Shooters, a youth shotgun team including ages 10 to collegiate from 2020 to 2023, and she has been national tournament director for the SAR Program out of Liberty, Missouri, which involved the organization, scheduling, and operation of the regional, state, and national level tournament.

Rawe is honored and humbled to have been selected as the next head coach of the shotgun sports program.

"I have always told the young people that I have coached over the years to never focus so hard on the prize that you forget to enjoy the journey," she said. "I am looking forward to this journey more than words can describe. I am so honored and blessed to be able to help lead these incredible athletes and this 18-time National Champion program to even greater heights."

Rawe is also employed during the competitive season by the Amateur Trapshooting Association (ATA) and the Missouri Trapshooters Association (MTA) and has multiple certifications including NRA Level 1, Double Goal Coach, NASP BAI, and SAR BARI, and she is also a certified instructor for International Bowhunter Education and a former Missouri Hunter Education instructor.

She lives in Festus, Missouri with her husband of 22 years and has three children and four grandchildren. Her oldest son graduated from Lindenwood University in 2018 and is a member of the Lions Athletic Hall of Fame as a member of the 2015 Large Coed Cheerleading team.
