Box Score The Lindenwood baseball team lost to Maryville University by a 6-3 margin on Wednesday night in St. Louis, Mo.
The Lions put a couple of runs on the board quickly in the first inning.
Mike Failoni hit a two RBI single to drive in
Jerry Roam and
Wade Rothermich for a 2-0 Lindenwood lead. Maryville matched the Lions and scored two runs in the bottom of the first to tie the game at 2-2. The Saints added a run in the bottom of the third and scored three runs in the bottom of the fifth to take a 6-2 lead.
Ben Coudret hit an RBI single in the top of the ninth to add another run for the Lions, but it was too little too late. Lindenwood fell 6-3 to the Saints to even the season-series at 1-1 as each team won its respective home game.
The loss drops Lindenwood to 16-28 on the year. The Lions will host Emporia State for a four-game series starting on Friday at 6 p.m. at the Lou Brock Sports Complex in St. Charles, Mo.
