Four From Baseball Earn Academic All-District

On Tuesday, College Sports Communicators released its 2023-24 Academic All-District Baseball teams which saw four Lindenwood student-athletes earn a spot: Carson Subbert, Bennett Stice, Josh Newell, and Aaron Jungers were all recognized for their efforts on the diamond and in the classroom.

Stice, Subbert and Jungers were all key pieces out of the Lindenwood bullpen in 2024. Stice appeared in 15 games, working 25.2 innings. Stice picked up a win against Bradley on April 10 and earned a save against Morehead State on April 19. Subbert appeared in 18 games out of the bullpen. He earned a win against Southern Indiana on April 6. Jungers appeared in 21 games, starting one. Jungers logged 35.2 innings, recording two saves, while striking out 34. Stice and Subbert each recorded a 4.0 GPA, while Jungers earned a 3.9.

Newell was a key cog in the Lindenwood rotation, making 11 starts. The St. Charles, Mo. native tallied five wins on the mound, while tossing 65.2 innings. He earned OVC Pitcher of the week honors after going seven scoreless and picking up a victory over UT Martin on May 12. In the classroom, Newell carries a 3.95 cumulative GPA.
