Lions Drop Two Against Central Missouri

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 The Lindenwood baseball lost both games on Saturday to Central Missouri by scores of 9-4 and 4-1 respectively.

Game one started off with an early Lindenwood run.  Jerry Roam reached base on a double to center and was driven in by a Marshall Vallandingham single to give Lindenwood a quick 1-0 lead.  With the game tied 1-1 heading into the top of the fourth the Lions regained the lead.  Roam hit another double to start the inning and again scored on a Vallandingham single to center field.  After Vallandingham stole second, Ryan Light hit a single to center to bring in Vallandingham and the Lions lead 3-1.

Central Missouri responded in a big way by scoring six runs in the bottom of the fourth on seven hits and two errors committed by the Lions.  The Mules added a run in the fifth and another in the sixth to take a 9-3 lead.  Lindenwood scored just one run in the top of the seventh and fell 9-4 in game one.

Vallandingham lead the Lions with four hits and two RBI on the day.  Both RBI for Vallandingham were scored by Roam who had three hits on the day, with each one being a double.

The Lions fall to 14-18 on the year and now sit at 11-10 in the MIAA.  Lindenwood will finish its four-game series with Central Missouri on Sunday with a doubleheader starting at 1 p.m. in Warrensburg, Mo.
