Lawson Veit Wins Gold Medal; Lions Finish Fourth at USA Archery 3-D Collegiate Nationals

Lawson Veit claimed the first individual gold medal in team history and the Lions finished fourth overall at the USA Archery 3-D Collegiate National Championship October 1-5 at

Men's Open Compound
the Foley Event Center in Gulf Shores, Alabama. Lindenwood totaled 71.5 points overall to top the previous best of 65 points and fifth place at the event.

Veit broke the all-time scoring record to win Men's Open Compound with a score of 462, topping the previous record by two points. Fellow Lion Gage Kellett took the silver medal with a score of 458, missing the previous record by just two.

In other action, the team of Ashton Probus, Peyton Willeford, and Andrew Thompson finished second in the Men's Recurve event while the Lindenwood squad of Nora Shively, Kenzie Yates, and Sarah Jungmeyer took third in Women's Recurve.

Veit, Kellett, and Easton Gregg combined to finish third in the Men's Open Compound team event while Probus and Shively paired up to take third in the Mixed Recurve event.

The Lions Men's Fixed Pins squad of Cody Mosley, Ryan Schatz, and Hunter Powell took fourth, just missing the podium.

Archery next competes at the Midwest Open which will take place December 13-14 at the Sheels Center in Springfield, Illinois.
