The roller hockey Black squad posted a 3-1 record at the final Midwest Collegiate Roller Hockey League (MCRHL) event February 21-22 at Vetta 70 in St. Peters, Missouri. The Lions edged St. Louis Community College (JC) 6-5 in overtime, lost to Maryville D3 13-6, and stopped Ohio State AA 8-1 on Saturday, then defeated Michigan Tech D3 6-3 on Sunday.
In the overtime victory against the Archers, Lindenwood took a 2-0 lead early in the first only to see three goals from St. Louis CC before the frame was over. The Lions regained the lead with two in the second and added one more in the third, but the Archers scored twice in the final period to force overtime. It took just over 11 minutes of extra time for Lindenwood to get the game-winner of the blade of
Brayden Uglow.
The Lions out shot St. Louis CC 34-19.
Braysen Reagan stopped 13 of 16 shots for Lindenwood and
Ben Teismann made three saves on three shots in relief.
Josh Collins earned Star No. 1 honors with a pair of goals and an assist and Uglow was named Star No. 3 with a goal and two assists.
Caden McGuirk,
Nick Wolfmeier, and
Nolan Lawrenz each split the pipes once for the Lions.
In the game against the Saints, Lindenwood played them even in the first and almost accomplished the same in the third, but Maryville owned the second with six unanswered.
Josh Collins and
Brayden Uglow led the Lions with a pair of goals each and
Jack Horrocks and
Bode Neely accounted for the other Lindenwood tallies.
The Saints out shot the Lions 30-20 with Reagan taking the loss.
Lindenwood bounced back nicely against the Buckeyes. After getting three in the opening period, the Lions outscored Ohio State 2-1 in the second before adding three more in the third.
Lindenwood out shot the Buckeyes 37-21 with Reagan stopped 20 of the 21 shots he faced to earn the victory in goal.
Brayden Uglow earned Star No. 1 honors with a hat trick,
Josh Collins was named Star No. 2 with a goal and three assists, and
Bode Neely received Star No. 3 recognition with a goal and assist.
Ryan Everding,
Nick Wolfmeier, and
Carter Banks accounted for the other Lions goals.
Despite the three-goal margin, Lindenwood controlled the game against the Huskies from the start. The Lions led 3-0 after the first and 5-2 after the second. Lindenwood out shot Michigan Tech 33-17 with
Ben Teismann earning the win in goal with 16 saves on 17 shots.
Brayden Uglow earned Star No. 1 honors with three goals,
Bode Neely was named Star No. 2 with two goals and an assist, and
Nick Wolfmeier received Star No. 3 recognition with a goal and assist.
Roller hockey Black concludes the season with a mark of 15-2. Â Â
