Four men's rugby players have been named to the D1A Collegiate All-American team for the 2022-2023 season.
Runako Brynard,
Nick Hardrict, II,
Connor Devos, and
Tyren Al-Jiboori all received selection for the honor.
Brynard was selected as a First Team All-American at the position of hooker. He made his presence known at the breakdown where he was a leader for the Lions in stealing possession and disrupting the opposition attack.
Hardrict, II also earned selection as a First Team All-American and adds to his list of accolades for the 2022-2023 season. He proved to be a force on the wing by not only leading the team in tries, but by being a lockdown defender out wide. Hardrict, II will be looking to cap his senior season with another strong performance.
Devos was the third Lion selected as a First Team All-American at the position of prop after earning that starting position as a sophomore. He led all Lion props in minutes played and he traveled around the pitch at an extremely high rate. Devos spent the entire summer preparing himself for a strong junior campaign.
Al-Jiboori finished his Lindenwood career by earning Honorable Mention status. He brought a physical presence in the defensive line and consistently needed more than one tackler to bring him down as a ball carrier. Al-Jiboori was a first-round selection in the 2023 Major League Rugby (MLR) draft by the San Diego Legion.
With a total of four earning All-American status, Lindenwood was among three schools sharing the honor for most athletes selected from a single team. D1A National Champion Navy and national runner-up University of California – Berkley also each had four players selected.
Men's rugby begins its season with a home game against Principia College September 16. The opening kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. this Saturday afternoon at the Lindenwood Track Complex in St. Charles, Missouri.
