Men’s Rugby Dominates MRC All-Conference Honors; Macy Named Coach of the Year

Men's rugby capped off a standout 2025–26 campaign with a commanding presence in the Midwest Rugby Conference (MRC) postseason awards, earning multiple First Team, Second Team, and Honorable Mention All-Conference selections, while Head Coach Josh Macy was named MRC Coach of the Year.

The representation of the Lions in the conference awards reflects a season defined by consistency, depth, and high-level performance on both sides of the ball. Lindenwood placed multiple players on the First Team All-Conference, highlighting the program's ability to develop elite talent across the forward pack and backline.

First Team All-Conference Lions: Second Team All-Conference Lions: Honorable Mention All-Conference Lions: The Lions attacking firepower and tactical control were further recognized through individual statistical awards. Byron Forword captured the Golden Boot with a conference-leading 75 points, directing the Lindenwood attack with precision throughout the season.

On the edge, David Cathcart finished among the conference leaders in tries scored, showcasing his finishing ability and aerial presence.

The Lions balance and depth were defining features of the season, with 24 different players scoring tries in conference matches, underscoring a distributed attack and the program's ability to generate threats across the entire roster.

As a team, Lindenwood was also honored with the Fair Play Award, recording the fewest cards in the conference, a reflection of the group's discipline and composure in high-level competition.

Head Coach Joshua Macy's selection as Coach of the Year underscores the program's sustained excellence and ability to perform at a high level across the entirety of the season. Under his leadership, the Lions continued to build on a culture centered around development, accountability, and competitive consistency.

"This recognition reflects the collective effort of our group," Macy said. "Our players have committed themselves to a standard every day, and it's rewarding to see that acknowledged across the conference."

The Midwest Rugby Conference remains one of the premier competitions in collegiate rugby, and the strong representation of Lindenwood across the awards highlights the program's continued position among the nation's elite.
