Four Power Play Goals Sink Lions in 9-0 Loss

Women's ACHA ice hockey gave up four power play goals in a 9-0 loss to McKendree in Women's Midwest College Hockey (WMCH) action Thursday afternoon at the Centene Community Ice Center in Maryland Heights, Missouri.

The Lions defense held the Bearcats scoreless through the first half of the opening period, but the first power play goal gave McKendree a 1-0 lead and eventually opened the floodgates. After maintaining a 1-0 lead through the first intermission, the Bearcats scored another power play goal early in the second and then added another two tallies at even-strength to open up a 4-0 advantage. Two more power play scores and five overall came in the final frame.

McKendree outshot Lindenwood 45-24 and Erica Didocha stopped 36 of the 45 pucks she faced in the loss.

The Lions are now 0-10 overall and 0-7 in the WMCH. They hit the road for a two-game series against the University of Michigan – Dearborn November 14-15. The opening faceoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. EST Friday and at 1 p.m. EST on Saturday with both contests taking place at the UM – Dearborn Ice Center in Dearborn, Michigan.
