Lions Put 23 Shots on Goal in Loss to Adrian

Women's ACHA ice hockey put 23 shots on goal but couldn't break through for a score in an 8-0 loss to Adrian College Friday night at the Centene Community Ice Center in Maryland Heights, Missouri.

The Bulldogs jumped on the Lions quickly with a goal in the first 76-seconds of the game and then added three more in a span of just over three minutes (11:58; 14:18; 15:05) later in the first period. They tacked on another three in the second (4:10; 16:45; 17:40) and then scored the final goal of the game at the 31-second mark of the third.
Lindenwood countered with seven shots on goal in the opening frame and eight each in the second and third but could not get the puck past the Adrian netminder.

Both teams went scoreless on three power play opportunities as the Bulldogs outshot the Lions 43-23 overall. Evi Allerding stopped 35 of the 43 shots she faced for Lindenwood in the loss.

The Lions are now 0-4 to start the season but will seek their first victory against a different opponent the rest of the weekend in a two-game series versus Miami (Ohio) University at home. The opening faceoff is set for 9:50 p.m. Saturday night and at 4 p.m. Sunday afternoon at the Centene Community Ice Center.
