Men's rugby took time away from the pitch to celebrate the people and moments that defined the season, honoring major award winners and recognizing the senior class during an evening with Student Life Sports and the Lindenwood Athletic Department.
The night was highlighted by two of the program's top honors, awarded to
Byron Forword and
Ike Wrigley, both representing the standard of excellence the Lions strive to uphold.
Forword was recognized as the program's Male Athlete of the Year after a standout season in which he consistently performed at the highest level.

As a central figure in Lindenwood's attack, his composure, decision-making, and ability to control matches set him apart. Week after week, Forword delivered in big moments, establishing himself as one of the premier players in collegiate rugby and a driving force behind the team's success.
Wrigley, named the Heart of a Lion Award recipient, was honored for a journey defined by resilience and commitment. Entering the program as a highly touted freshman, Wrigley faced multiple seasons impacted by injury. Rather than stepping away, he leaned further into the program, developing as a leader, contributing as a play-by-play announcer, and supporting Lindenwood Athletics in every capacity possible. His return to the field this season marked the culmination of years of perseverance and growth, embodying the spirit of the award.
While the individual honors were a focal point, the evening ultimately centered on the senior class and their lasting impact on the program. Each senior was presented with a graduation stole, symbolizing not only their academic achievement, but their contribution to the culture and legacy of Lindenwood Rugby.
This group has helped shape the identity of the program through wins, challenges, and the daily commitment required to compete at the highest level. Their influence extends beyond results, leaving behind standards and expectations that will carry forward to future Lions.
The evening served as a reminder that success within the program is measured by more than performance on game day. It is built on resilience, leadership, and a commitment to something larger than oneself, values exemplified by the award winners and senior class alike.
As the Lions turn the page toward the future, the foundation laid by this group remains firmly in place.
